The BBC has officially confirmed the much-anticipated return of Dragons' Den after the show’s extended hiatus from television.
Launching in 2005, Dragons' Den continues to captivate audiences with its latest 22nd series. This season features familiar Dragons Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman, Steven Bartlett, and Sara Davies. Additionally, guest Dragons Joe Wicks, Trinny Woodall, and Emma Grede have appeared in various episodes, adding fresh perspectives to the entrepreneurial pitches.
The series originally aired earlier this year but went on a lengthy break in February. Although it briefly returned with several episodes in July, scheduling changes caused another short disappearance from BBC’s lineup. Now, the remaining five episodes will air starting Thursday, October 2.

According to the show synopsis, these episodes will showcase a new wave of entrepreneurs pitching their businesses to the panel of Dragons, described as “five of the brightest business brains in the country.” Among contenders are university friends promoting a rejuvenating body care brand made from shea ear butter, two sisters developing an app to support women returning to the workplace, a Welsh ranger presenting an educational dinosaur pitch, and a passionate Scottish entrepreneur launching a natural tattoo aftercare line.
Alongside this announcement, Sara Davies shared her decision to leave the show. Since joining in 2019, Davies has become a beloved figure. She made her decision public on Instagram, explaining her need to prioritize her own company, Crafter’s Companion, where she serves as CEO.
Davies noted, “Being a Dragon requires so much dedication and time, as you become deeply involved with the businesses you invest in. It’s far more than just a TV role.” She described her departure as a necessary step to focus fully on her business commitments but left the door open for a potential return in the future.
She expressed gratitude for her time on the show and excitement for the episodes still to come this year: “You can still catch me in the second half of this series later in the year – it will not disappoint!”
Dragons' Den is set to return to BBC One and iPlayer on Thursday, October 2, ready to inspire viewers with new pitches and fresh business ideas.
