Weymouth’s Free Family Food Festival Makes Halloween Cozy and Creative

This Halloween, Weymouth’s Tumbledown Farm is inviting families to a free, autumn-themed Family Food Festival filled with hands-on fun and festive flavors. Taking place on Friday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., this event offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season with fresh, local produce and engaging activities for all ages.

Kids and adults alike can get creative with pumpkin carving and pizza making, featuring vegetables harvested right from the farm. Children aged eight and over can craft their own pizzas for a small fee, adding a delicious twist to the day’s entertainment.

Alongside these activities, attendees can enjoy campfire cooking sessions, popcorn making, and watch a live soup demonstration by a local chef. A food-themed trail starts at the top car park and winds through the scenic grounds, inviting families to explore and discover.

The “Bat Cave” serves as an imaginative space for pumpkin carving workshops, while other attractions include games, an autumnal photo booth, arts and crafts, and informative stands about bees and their importance to the environment.

Tumbledown volunteers will be offering handmade wooden crafts and preserves for sale, and refreshments will be available throughout the event.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Caroline Nickinson, expressed her enthusiasm: “The Family Food Festival at Tumbledown on October 31 promises to be a fantastic half-term outing. It’s a wonderful chance to celebrate the delicious food grown here while enjoying games, crafts, and great company.”

She added, “Tumbledown plays a vital role in our community by bringing people together, fostering new skills, and connecting everyone with nature.”

Tumbledown Farm is located on Radipole Lane in Southill. Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport due to limited on-site parking.
