Weymouth is set to become home to an exciting new indoor mini golf attraction, Globalls, featuring two 12-hole courses. The project will transform the vacant former Iceland food store on St Thomas Street, which has stood empty since autumn 2021, into a dynamic entertainment destination.
The latest planning application submitted to Dorset Council outlines plans for a mini golf course on the ground floor, alongside a reception area and bar. A second 12-hole course will be located on the first floor, offering visitors ample space to enjoy the activity.
To support the new facility, the proposal includes the installation of new staircases, upgraded restrooms, storage areas, and an air conditioning and ventilation system. Importantly, the company has confirmed that these internal modifications will preserve the main façade of the building, maintaining its external appearance.

According to the application, Globalls aims to attract a new wave of visitors to Weymouth, providing an appealing indoor option that caters especially to wet weather and off-season tourists. This addition is expected to breathe new life into the area, enhancing the local leisure offerings.
The business has also requested permission for new advertising signage above the former shopfront, featuring vinyl window displays to promote the attraction.
