Weston-super-Mare experienced their first defeat of the National League South season following a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Dover Athletic at the Optima Stadium, witnessed by a crowd of 1,057 spectators.
The early part of the match saw efforts from both sides, with Jalen Jones and Rolando Onu forcing key saves from Weston goalkeeper Max Harris, while Weston’s Luke Coulson narrowly missed after dragging a shot wide.
Dover broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark when Decarry Sherriff was fouled in the penalty area. Sherriff confidently converted the resulting penalty, sending Harris the wrong way.

Weston responded before half-time, levelling the score in the 38th minute. A well-delivered ball was pulled back from the byline, allowing Louis Britton to strike home from 12 yards.
The second half witnessed several chances, including a header from Sean Long for Weston that was tipped over by the Dover goalkeeper, and a volley from Sherriff that sailed over the crossbar for Dover.
Weston then took the lead early in the second half. Jacob Jagger-Cane provided an assist for Britton, who scored his second goal of the match in the 56th minute.
However, Dover fought back to equalise through Euan Williams in the 76th minute. The home side was left stunned deep into stoppage time, as Corie Andrews unleashed a spectacular 25-yard strike that found the top corner, sealing a late victory for Dover in the first minute of added time.
