Weston-super-Mare Secure National League South Play-Off Spot with Historic Sixth-Place Finish

Weston-super-Mare have confirmed their place in the National League South play-offs after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Dorking Wanderers on the final day of the season. Under Scott Rogers' guidance, the Seagulls entered the match sitting seventh in the table, knowing that a win or a favorable result would secure a top-seven finish and a play-off berth.

Dorking took the lead moments before halftime, courtesy of Frank Vincent, casting doubt over Weston’s play-off hopes. However, early in the second half, Luke Spokes struck an equalizer for Weston, leveling the score at 1-1—a result that ultimately stood.

Thanks to favorable outcomes elsewhere—most notably Ebbsfleet United’s defeat at Worthing—Weston rose to sixth place, marking the highest league finish in the club’s history and confirming their play-off participation.

The Seagulls will now travel to face Hemel Hempstead Town in the play-off eliminator on Tuesday night. Victory there would set up a semi-final clash against Hornchurch the following Saturday, with the final scheduled two weeks later. This marks an exciting opportunity for Weston-super-Mare as they aim to push for promotion.
