Weston-super-Mare launched their National League South campaign with a commanding 3-0 win at home against Chesham United.
The Seagulls, eager to improve on last season’s play-off disappointment, took an early lead when Dan Martin delivered a precise cross from the left flank, which Jacob Jagger-Cane expertly headed in from six yards.
Goalkeeper Max Harris was then called into action, producing a smart save from Jayden Bennetts' low shot and holding onto a glancing header from Alfie Williams, maintaining Weston’s advantage.

In the second half, Harris launched a long clearance which Louis Britton flicked on, setting up Louie Derrick - on loan from Bristol City - to strike Weston’s second goal past Chesham keeper Ben Goode.
Despite Chesham’s determined efforts to mount a comeback, it was Weston who sealed the win in the dying moments of the match. Britton intercepted a lofted ball from Derrick and calmly slotted the third goal beyond Goode, ensuring a strong start to the season.
Meanwhile, in a match featuring Sholing and Bath City, Sholing began positively with a notable save from their keeper Harvey Wiles-Richards early on. However, two minutes later, Michael Folivi found the net for Sholing following a low cross from Tommy Willard.
Bath City struggled initially but grew into the game, managing to equalise on 29 minutes courtesy of Scott Wilson, who scored from a cross by Donovan Wilson. Donovan was then substituted for Reuben Reid.
Both sides had chances before halftime, with solid defensive efforts keeping the score level.
In the second half, Bath began controlling possession and applied pressure, though clear chances remained limited. Harry Taylor missed a key opportunity, firing over the bar from close range after a precise pull-back from Reece Wylie.
City’s resilient defence held firm and with four minutes remaining, Reid won possession in midfield before assisting Parsons, who fired a dipping 20-yard shot over the Sholing goalkeeper Jack Turner.
Bath City maintained their lead to secure a memorable victory in their first Southern League match in 20 years.
