Weston-super-Mare have surged into second place in the National League South table following a dramatic 89th-minute winner from Ollie Hulbert that saw them edge past Dagenham & Redbridge. The match was tightly contested with neither side able to find the net until the closing stages. Hulbert displayed great composure to calmly convert from 12 yards, clinching a 1-0 victory and propelling the Seagulls above their opponents in the league standings.
In other National League South action, Bath City returned to winning ways with a solid 2-0 home triumph over local rivals Chippenham Town in the Southern League Premier Division South. Bath dominated the match, controlling play throughout and creating multiple chances. However, the Bluebirds’ on-loan Bristol City goalkeeper, teenager Jack Witchard, was in fine form and kept his team in the game with several impressive saves. Despite his efforts, Bath broke the deadlock in the first half when Donovan Wilson capitalised on a long ball from goalkeeper Harvey Wiles-Richards in the 20th minute. Scott Wilson then doubled the lead after 31 minutes, converting a precise pull-back from Joe Raynes.
Elsewhere, Frome Town and Hanwell Town played out an exciting 2-2 draw. Jon Davies and Zack Ali had put Frome ahead but Hanwell’s Henry Snee struck twice, including a late equaliser, to earn a point for the visitors.
