Wessex Truck Show Cancelled This Summer Amid Financial Struggles

The Wessex Truck Show, a beloved annual event held in Yeovil since 2012, has been officially cancelled for the summer of 2024. Organisers cited financial difficulties and disappointing ticket sales as the main reasons behind the decision.

After making a comeback in 2023 following a four-year hiatus, the show was originally scheduled for August. However, a significant drop in truck entries, trade stand bookings, and public ticket sales, combined with the unexpected withdrawal of a major sponsor, left organisers unable to financially sustain an event that upholds the quality and spirit fans expect.

In an official statement, organisers expressed their regret: “This decision was incredibly difficult but necessary. We understand this news will disappoint our loyal supporters, exhibitors, and attendees. We are committed to issuing full refunds for all tickets, camping bookings, and trade stands, and we ask for patience as we process these.”

While 2024’s event is cancelled, organisers pledged to return next year in a new location, promising to rebuild the community spirit that has always been at the heart of the Wessex Truck Show. They also highlighted plans to continue their other charity event, The Wessex Truck Gathering, scheduled for March 2026 in Frome.

Despite this setback, the organisers remain optimistic about the future and grateful for the ongoing support of their truck show community.
