The carnival season is nearing its grand finale with only one procession left to light up Somerset’s streets in Glastonbury tonight. Meanwhile, at the Wells Carnival on Friday evening, Ramblers and Huckyduck Carnival Clubs secured their sixth consecutive wins, positioning them to jointly claim the county cup once again.
Both clubs have dominated multiple carnivals this season, including Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-super-Mare, North Petherton, and Shepton Mallet. At Wells, they continued to impress the judges by topping the open feature and tableau classes respectively.
Ramblers CC, with their miners strike-themed cart titled “1912 – All Out,” triumphed in all six feature classes. Huckyduck CC mirrored this success by winning all six tableau classes with their “Scarecrow Partea.” If both clubs maintain their winning streak in tonight’s procession, they will share the county cup once more, repeating the outcome from 2023.
