Wellbeing Event on Ivinghoe Beacon Marks Summer Solstice with Community Connection

On June 20th, two wellbeing practitioners are hosting a unique free event at Ivinghoe Beacon to celebrate the Summer Solstice. James O’Keefe, a wellbeing coach and co-founder of Unguarded Warrior, along with life coach and psychologist Chris Wimshurst, are inviting 100 individuals to participate in an evening filled with breathwork, mindfulness, sound healing, and meaningful community connection.

Dubbed “100 on the Hill,” this event draws inspiration from the success of initiatives like Parkrun and community running clubs—programs that demonstrate the growing desire for accessible, no-cost opportunities to foster social bonds and support wellbeing.

James explains, “Our goal was to create an event that truly welcomes everyone. Often, wellbeing activities feel exclusive due to cost, confidence, or not knowing where to start. Community events like Parkrun prove that people seek to come together, move, connect, and belong, especially when these experiences are free.”

“100 on the Hill is our take on this spirit. It’s an invitation to slow down in nature, engage in healing practices, and share connection with others. By making it completely free, we hope to remove barriers and make wellbeing and community inclusivity a reality.”

Taking place on the evening of the longest day of the year, this event aims to unite diverse participants for a shared experience that celebrates wellbeing, nature, and togetherness.
