Se7en, formerly known as Raincheck, has undergone a striking transformation at 7 Edgar Buildings near Milsom Street in Bath. This newly revamped venue combines a bespoke cocktail bar with a gourmet restaurant, boasting one of the city’s only indoor barbecues.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by a glamorous cocktail bar set against a sophisticated interior. Outside, a sunny terrace overlooks the bustling Milsom Street, providing the perfect spot to enjoy drinks and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. For those seeking comfort in cooler weather, a heated terrace is available at the back.
The centerpiece of Se7en’s restaurant is its indoor log-fueled barbecue, where flame-grilled steaks and fresh fish sourced daily from Brixham in Devon are expertly prepared. The menu offers small plates at accessible prices—favorites include buttermilk chicken with sriracha and kimchi (£9.50) and tomato bruschetta topped with creamy goat’s curd (£8.50).

Steak lovers will appreciate the show-stopping signature dishes: a giant T-Bone or Tomahawk steak, perfectly cooked on the open flame right before your eyes. These hearty cuts are designed for sharing, though visitors can also order smaller, individual portions.
Se7en’s cocktail menu balances classic favorites like Margaritas and Negronis with an imaginative twist—a curated selection inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. This creative concept promises to be a hit, especially on warm summer evenings spent on the terraces.
Having sampled the offerings on opening night, we found the food to be fresh, contemporary, and packed with flavor. Se7en’s arrival brings a refreshing new energy to Bath’s nightlife and dining scene, and it’s encouraging to see an independent venue thriving in the city center.
