On June 10, Marlon Henriques, 30, of Wylye Road, Tidworth, triggered a terrifying police pursuit after refusing to stop for roads policing officers in Bulford, Wiltshire. Caught on camera, the 100mph chase showcased some of the most dangerous driving witnessed on local roads.
Henriques was initially spotted driving a Volkswagen Arteon—taken without consent from a housemate—at 56mph in a 30mph zone on Marlborough Road. Despite officers’ blue lights and sirens, he accelerated wildly, overtaking vehicles illegally on solid white lines, and even nearly collided head-on with an oncoming army truck.
As the chase intensified, Henriques performed multiple reckless overtakes approaching Tidworth, sped through red lights on Pennings Road, and mounted pavements to bypass traffic at junctions. The pursuit stretched onto Salisbury Plain and nearby roads, with officers reaching speeds exceeding 100mph just to keep up.

Eventually, police deployed a stinger device that punctured two of Henriques' tyres. Unable to maintain control, he crashed into a white Citroën panel van, sending it crashing into a tree, before colliding with an unmarked armed response vehicle ahead.
Henriques was immediately detained and charged with aggravated vehicle theft, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance. On August 14, Salisbury Crown Court sentenced him to 22 months in prison and a driving ban lasting four years and 11 months.
PC Webster of the Roads Policing Unit described Henriques’ conduct as “some of the worst driving I have seen,” highlighting the immense danger posed to the public through his speeding, reckless overtaking, repeated red light violations, and wrong-way navigation on roundabouts.
He praised the exemplary collaboration between Roads Policing, neighbourhood, and response officers that led to Henriques’ capture and sentencing. PC Webster also extended gratitude to the public for their patience and assistance during this chaotic incident in broad daylight.
