Volunteers and Charities Shine at Inaugural Radio Bath Charity Awards

Radio Bath celebrated the extraordinary dedication of more than 200 volunteers, charity workers, and community champions at its first-ever Charity Awards ceremony. The event, held at The Pavilion, recognised local efforts across 17 categories, from outstanding volunteering to grassroots initiatives making a tangible difference in the region.

Supported by local network 3SG and headline sponsor South West Business Finance, the ceremony brought together over 200 attendees, including representatives from local businesses, charities, and organisations. Guests enjoyed a catered lunch by Tu Mangetout as the community’s hard work was applauded.

Judges—all Radio Bath patrons—carefully reviewed over 100 nominations, ultimately selecting the winners who exemplify the spirit of service and community commitment. Dan Smith, partner at South West Business Finance, praised the dedication on display and reaffirmed his company’s strong support for the event.

Loraine Morgan-Brinkhurst MBE, co-founder of Radio Bath, commented, “This event has been a long-held wish of ours to shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions made by charities, organisations, and volunteers in Bath and the surrounding areas. Assessing over 100 nominations was no easy task, but it reinforced just how much good work happens locally.”

Steve Fountain from Radio Bath added, “We are deeply grateful to our sponsors whose generosity made this special event possible, and to our Patrons for their continued support.”

Co-hosted by Radio Bath’s Simon McNeill-Ritchie and Toni Green from 3SG, the awards marked a significant milestone as the radio station approaches its fifth anniversary. Since its launch, Radio Bath has been a passionate advocate for local causes, talent, and charitable initiatives within Bath and neighbouring communities.
