Vehicle Destroyed in Suspicious Fire in Crewkerne

In the early hours of Saturday, February 28, a vehicle was completely destroyed by a fire on a residential street in Crewkerne. The blaze, which began around 3:30 a.m., was quickly reported to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service through multiple emergency calls.

Firefighters from Crewkerne responded promptly, arriving to find the vehicle well alight. Using two breathing apparatus sets, one hose reel jet, and a thermal imaging camera, the crew worked to extinguish the flames.

The fire service confirmed the vehicle was entirely consumed by the fire. Police were called to the scene due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, as noted by the fire crew.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service stated: “Fire control received multiple calls to a vehicle on fire on a residential street in Crewkerne. Upon arrival, crews confirmed the vehicle was well alight and took immediate action to extinguish the fire. The incident is being treated as suspicious, and police are involved.”
