Update on Minehead School Bus Crash: CPS Considers Charges

Police have provided a significant update regarding the fatal school bus crash near Minehead last year. The investigation, led by Avon and Somerset Police, has progressed to the point where a file has been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to consider potential charges.

The tragic incident occurred on July 17, 2025, when a bus carrying 60 to 70 students and staff from Minehead Middle School veered off the A396 and slid down a 20-foot embankment. Ten-year-old Oliver Price tragically died at the scene due to head injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities have informed Oliver’s family, as well as other affected families, about the referral to the CPS. Avon and Somerset Police emphasized that additional investigations are still underway, following guidance from the CPS, as they actively pursue further lines of inquiry.
