Looking ahead to 2024, roadworks are expected to be a significant factor restricting traffic flow. With a 10-mile road closure scheduled for two nights and multiple small closures in villages causing extensive diversions, it’s essential to be aware of the key road closures planned in Bath and North East Somerset for the upcoming year.
While this list is not exhaustive and plans are subject to change, here are some of the notable road closures scheduled for the beginning of 2024:

January 2–3: Church Street in Paulton will be closed overnight with a five-mile diversion route in place. January 3–26: Stirtingale Road in Southdown, Bath will face an extended closure due to Wessex Water works. January 8–10: Keynsham High Street will be closed for works by Bristol Water, with traffic diverted along Ashton Way. January 13–14: A section of Wells Road (A39) in Hallatrow will be closed for Bristol Water works. January 15–19: Daily closures on Summer Lane between Combe Down and Monkton Combe. January 22–24: Closure of Ham Lane in Paulton for vegetation works with the National Grid. January 23: Winford Road (B3130) in Chew Magna will have a short closure with a 23-and-a-half-mile diversion route. January 29–February 2: Closure of the road under the railway at Lansdown View/Jews Lane in Twerton for works by Network Rail. February 1–2: Wick Road (A368) closure requiring a 40-mile diversion route. February 5–7: Ten-mile closure of the A36 for drainage work from Bathampton to Beckington. February 9–26: Closure of part of Maggs Lane in Whitchurch for works by Wales & West Utilities. February 12–16: Closure of The Street in Marksbury for sewer lining works by Wessex Water. February 13–15: Utility repair and maintenance work by Bristol Water will lead to the closure of a stretch of Manor Road in Saltford. February 15: Hayeswood Road (B3115) closure for work by Openreach. February 21–23: Closure of a segment of Tucking Mill Lane in Midford for works by Wessex Water.
