Unknown Vehicles Sought After Fatal Wiltshire Pedestrian Crash

An elderly pedestrian tragically lost her life in a collision involving multiple vehicles on the A361 Caen Hill near Mayenne Place in Devizes, Wiltshire. The incident occurred at approximately 6:13 pm on Friday, November 14. The woman, in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and her family has been informed.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that while one vehicle involved stopped to assist, several other vehicles believed to have been part of the collision did not remain at the scene. Authorities are appealing urgently for those drivers to come forward, emphasizing the possibility that they may be unaware they struck a person.

The road remains closed during ongoing investigations but is expected to reopen soon. Sergeant James Barrett of the roads policing unit expressed condolences to the victim’s family and highlighted the importance of establishing the full circumstances of this tragic event.

“We are especially eager to speak with any drivers who were traveling along Caen Hill around the time of the collision and might suspect they hit something,” Sergeant Barrett said. He also urged anyone with dashcam footage or eyewitness information to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team to assist with the inquiry.
