Calling all antique enthusiasts! It’s time to reveal the beauty of your aged treasures. Shockerwick House, a Bupa Care Home in Bath, welcomes everyone to bring their beloved antiques for a special valuation event in collaboration with expert valuers, Auctioneum Bath.
Scheduled for April 10th, the care home will open its doors to the public, hoping to unearth numerous hidden gems and family heirlooms to be appraised by professional antique experts. This drop-in event is free, and the home will provide delightful tea and cakes for all attendees.
The event’s inception is credited to manager Liv Harris, who recognizes the residents' keen interest in antiques. Additionally, it aims to foster a stronger connection with the local community.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Liv Harris stated, “Many of our residents thoroughly enjoy watching antiques and history-related programs on TV, which inspired us to bring history and antiques directly to them. We hope the Bath community will participate and bring items with captivating stories. This not only enriches our residents' experiences but also provides a wonderful opportunity to engage with local community members.”
Anne Marie Rideal, a resident and history enthusiast at Shockerwick House, eagerly expressed, “I’m excited about our antiques valuation event. I’ve always been passionate about antiques and possessions that carry a story, so I’m looking forward to witnessing the fascinating artifacts people bring and the conversations they spark.”
If you wish to explore the worth of your collectibles, visit on Wednesday (April 10) between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Entrance and valuations are complimentary, with onsite parking available.
