Excitement is building as rumors suggest that UK pop sensation Sam Smith could be headlining the Glastonbury Festival in 2027. According to The Sun, the London-born artist, who is set to release a new album next month, has been invited to take the headline slot on the Other Stage at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset.
Sam Smith, known for hits like “Stay with Me,” last headlined Glastonbury 12 years ago. Their anticipated new album, Hazel Eyes, is scheduled for release on August 21, following the recent single “Oh Mother” featuring The TwoCity Chorus. An insider told The Sun, “Sam has been invited to go back to Glastonbury as a headliner on the Other Stage. It’s been over a decade since Sam’s last headline spot there, and it’s well overdue.”
Festival organizer Emily Eavis has already secured numerous big-name acts for the 2027 lineup, with Smith expected to join if plans align. Fans will recall Sam’s surprise 2024 appearance on the Other Stage alongside Disclosure, performing the 2013 hit “Latch.”

The potential headline performance at Glastonbury comes ahead of Smith’s planned 2027 tour dates, including an eight-night residency at the London Coliseum from September 8 to 19, and two shows at Manchester’s Albert Hall earlier that month.
In addition to their music career, Sam Smith is collaborating with Radio 1’s New Music Show, hosted by Jack Saunders, to spotlight emerging artists. Musicians can submit their work via BBC Introducing’s Uploader starting next Wednesday by selecting the “Sam Smith” tag. Submissions close on August 5.
Smith expressed enthusiasm about this initiative: “It’s exciting to be part of this new initiative. The discovery process for artists is so important, and being able to play a part in that is fantastic.”
