The prestigious list of the UK’s top 50 gastropubs has been revealed, featuring two standout establishments from Somerset. The final winner, who will earn the title for 2026, is set to be announced on January 26.
Among the finalists are The Queen of Cups in Glastonbury, a 17th-century coaching inn now renowned for its Middle Eastern cuisine, and The Three Horseshoes in Batcombe, a historic pub with over 300 years of heritage. Both are competing for industry recognition alongside the country’s finest gastropubs.
Ed Bedingot, editor of the Morning Advertiser and organiser of the Top 50 Gastropubs list, praised the shortlisted pubs for delivering exceptional food experiences week after week. “This year’s list highlights some of the best food pubs in the country. We are proud to recognise the dedication and hard work these pubs bring to the industry,” he said.

Cornwall boasts three entries: Paul Ainsworth’s The Mariners in Rock, Adam Handling’s Tartan Fox in Summercourt, and The Gurnard’s Head in west Cornwall.
This carefully curated list represents a diverse selection of pubs across the UK, from historic inns to modern gastropubs, demonstrating the country’s rich and evolving food culture.
