Two Somerset gastropubs have been recognized among the top in the country, featuring prominently in the esteemed Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list announced on January 26. The Three Horseshoes in Batcombe secured an impressive 14th place, while The Queen of Cups in Glastonbury earned the 42nd spot.
The Three Horseshoes celebrates its second consecutive year on the list, having been the only venue nationwide to appear in the 2025 edition. Meanwhile, The Queen of Cups expressed their excitement on social media, stating, “We are absolutely thrilled to be part of the @top50gastropubs. To be selected from the many fantastic gastropubs across the UK and rank in the Top 50 is a tremendous honor.”
Highlighting their team’s dedication, they added, “Our entire team delivers passion and skill every day. The prestigious list also includes standout gastropubs from Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, Devon, Cornwall, and London, showcasing culinary excellence across the country. Notably, no pubs from nearby Bristol were included this year.
The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs Awards are voted on by a panel of more than 350 hospitality industry experts, including gastropub operators, food writers, executive chefs, and industry leaders. This peer recognition highlights the highest standards of dining and service within this vibrant sector of the pub industry.
