Two People Hospitalized with Life-Changing Injuries After Somerset Village Collision

Two drivers remain hospitalized with suspected life-changing injuries following a serious traffic collision in the village of Norton Fitzwarren, Somerset. The accident involved a black BMW and a white Kia on the B3227 road between Wick Lane and Norton Fitzwarren on the evening of Wednesday, 9 July.

Both drivers sustained severe injuries and continue to receive treatment in hospital. Passengers in the white Kia were also injured but suffered only minor injuries and were taken to hospital for care.

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward. They are asking anyone who was near the scene or who may have captured dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage of the incident to contact them urgently.

A police statement reads: “At approximately 6:30 pm on 9 July, officers responded to the collision involving a black BMW and a white Kia on the B3227. Both drivers were hospitalized with serious, potentially life-changing injuries, and the Kia’s passengers were treated for minor injuries. We urge anyone with information or footage to contact us on 101, referencing 5225193006.”

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the circumstances that led to this severe crash.
