Two men involved in a burglary in Yeovil that targeted video game consoles and cash have been sentenced to prison. Wayne Shortland, 43, from Yeovil, and Lewis Coombes, 38, from Castle Cary, were captured on a doorbell camera stealing items from a South Street home in the early hours of Sunday, March 22.
Coombes was arrested just hours after the burglary, having taken two game consoles, cash, and several other unrecovered items. He pleaded guilty at Taunton Crown Court and received a 36-month prison sentence for burglary, theft, assault, and breaching both a Criminal Behaviour Order and a suspended sentence.
Shortland was arrested on April 29 and charged with burglary, motor vehicle theft, and four separate shoplifting offenses. After pleading guilty, he was sentenced to three years and six months in prison at Taunton Crown Court on July 10.
