A serious collision on the A36 near Frome has resulted in two drivers being hospitalized, with the road closed in both directions this evening, Tuesday, June 24. The incident occurred just before 5 pm and involved a black Peugeot and a white Hyundai.
Emergency services responded promptly, and both drivers were transported to hospital. One driver sustained serious injuries, and their next of kin have been informed.
The crash has led to the closure of the A36 between Beckington Roundabout and Berkley Street, near Standerwick. Avon and Somerset Police have urged motorists to avoid the area as specialist officers investigate the scene and coordinate vehicle recovery.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police stated: “We are attending a serious injury collision on the A36 at Beckington Roundabout near Frome. Both vehicles—the black Peugeot and the white Hyundai—are involved, and the road remains closed between Beckington Roundabout and Berkley Street, Standerwick. Motorists are advised to avoid the area while officers examine the scene and pending recovery of the vehicles. One driver has serious injuries, and next of kin have been notified.”

The A36 closure remains in effect as investigations continue.
