Two Die in Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash Near National Trust Site

A man and a woman tragically lost their lives in a single-vehicle collision near the National Trust’s Badbury Rings in Dorset. The crash occurred on the B3083 Blandford Road at approximately 9:53 pm on Sunday, December 7.

The victims, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 30s, were pronounced dead at the scene. Dorset Police have informed their families and are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following the collision, road closures were implemented on the B3082 to facilitate emergency response and a thorough examination of the crash site. The closures remained in place until Monday morning, December 8, while officers conducted extensive searches and gathered evidence.

Sergeant Dave Cotterill of the Roads Policing Team expressed condolences to the victims’ families and urged anyone who witnessed the crash or was driving nearby at the time to come forward. He also encouraged drivers to review any dashcam footage that might assist the investigation.

“Thank you to the public for their patience during the road closures, which are critical to ensuring a detailed and safe scene examination,” said Sgt. Cotterill.
