Pauline Richards, famously known as Miss KFC, has passed away after an extraordinary career spanning almost 50 years with the fast-food giant. Starting her journey at the KFC restaurant in Taunton, Somerset, in 1978, Pauline began as a cleaner but quickly advanced through nearly every role the store had to offer.
Her dedication and commitment saw her rise to team leader and eventually manager, making her a beloved figure among colleagues and customers alike. Known as the world’s longest-serving KFC employee, Pauline’s impact reached far beyond her workplace, becoming a cherished member of the Taunton community.
The Taunton Town Council paid heartfelt tribute to Pauline, describing her as one of the town’s most loved residents. They expressed their sorrow at her passing and recalled honoring her with a civic award earlier this year in recognition of her remarkable service.

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of Pauline Richards, aka Miss KFC, who was a friendly and familiar face in our town,” the council said. “Our thoughts are with her family and all who knew her.”
