Welsh rock icons Stereophonics are set to electrify their hometown with two unforgettable nights at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 July. Wrapping up their latest tour, the band will perform powerful sets featuring timeless hits like “Dakota,” “Have A Nice Day,” and “Maybe Tomorrow,” alongside fresh tracks from their upcoming 2025 album, Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait—promising an epic live experience for fans old and new.
With thousands of music lovers descending on the city, Great Western Railway (GWR) is boosting services with up to five extra trains each night, providing nearly 3,000 additional seats to ease your journey home. However, fans are advised to anticipate busy conditions and potential queues after the gigs.
Transport for Wales (TfW) is also enhancing its schedule by deploying additional and longer trains to manage the crowd effectively. Rachel Geliamassi, GWR Customer Services Director, emphasized the importance of planning: “Trains will, however, be busy. Plan ahead, travel smart, and allow extra time for the journey home due to expected queues at the station. If you’re traveling from further afield, check the timing of your last train.”

Georgie Wills, TfW’s Customer Delivery & Events Planning Manager, added, “We’re excited to welcome thousands of fans to Cardiff this summer. Please follow our queuing systems and travel advice to ensure a safe and smooth experience for everyone.”
Important station updates include temporary closures at Cardiff Bus Interchange and Cardiff Queen Street from 3 pm, though Queen Street will remain accessible for those requiring accessible travel or traveling to Cardiff Bay.
Network Rail Route Director Nick Millington assured, “We will do everything possible to maintain safe and smooth services alongside these major events.”
Remember, ticket checks will be in place before and after the concerts—make sure you have your tickets ready for a hassle-free journey.
