Tragic South West Paragliding Accident Claims Life of Steven Paul Radcliffe

Steven Paul Radcliffe, a 57-year-old advanced emergency care assistant from Sidmouth, Devon, tragically lost his life in a paragliding accident near Bucknole Cross on August 24. The Exeter coroner, Deborah Archer, provided details during a brief inquest hearing.

Mr. Radcliffe, originally from Manchester, was paragliding near Bucknole Cross when the accident occurred. At approximately 2:16 pm, while flying above a line of trees, he attempted to make a turn. During the maneuver, his paraglider collapsed and he was unable to re-inflate it, leading to the fatal crash.

The exact cause of death remains unconfirmed as the inquest has been adjourned. A full hearing is scheduled to take place at a later date to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
