A tragic crash in Somerset has resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy and left three others injured. The single-vehicle accident occurred on Peartwater Road, between Nether Stowey and Spaxton, shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, May 8.
The fatal incident involved a white Kia Picanto, where the teenage passenger suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders swiftly attended to the victims, transporting three other occupants of the vehicle to hospital for treatment and assessment.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that the deceased’s family has been notified and are receiving support from specially trained officers. In connection with the crash, another 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit due to alcohol and drugs. He has since been released on conditional bail pending further investigation.
