Tragic Fire at Somerset Adventure Park Claims Lives of Horses and Donkeys

A devastating fire at Animal Farm Adventure Park in Berrow, Somerset, has tragically resulted in the deaths of several animals, including horses and donkeys. The blaze broke out on the afternoon of November 18, engulfing a large building on the family-friendly site near Burnham-on-Sea.

Emergency services responded quickly, with four fire engines from Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, and Cheddar stations attending the scene. Firefighters battled the flames using two hose reel jets, two main jets, and breathing apparatus in an effort to control the fire that consumed a 30-meter by 50-meter building.

Despite their best efforts, the blaze destroyed the structure entirely and claimed the lives of two horses, two donkeys, and several smaller animals, according to a spokesperson from the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. They confirmed the fire was not deemed deliberate, though the exact causes remain under investigation.
