Tractor Driver and Biker Remain Hospitalized Eight Days After Glastonbury Crash

A tractor driver and a motorcyclist are still hospitalized eight days after a devastating crash near Glastonbury. The collision occurred on the B3151 Meare Road at approximately 9:58 a.m. on Thursday, May 29.

The tractor driver had exited a stationary yellow and green John Deere tractor towing a trailer when they were struck by a green Kawasaki ZX Ninja motorbike traveling toward Glastonbury. Both sustained life-threatening injuries in the incident.

According to Avon and Somerset Police, the condition of both victims remains critical, though updates on their progress have not been disclosed. Their next of kin were promptly informed following the crash.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the accident or has dashcam footage of the collision or vehicles leading up to it to come forward. A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police stated on May 31: “We are particularly eager to hear from witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage capturing the events surrounding the collision.”

The B3151 Meare Road was closed for nearly 36 hours while investigators examined the scene and reopened around 8:20 p.m. on May 30.
