A 16-year-old boy from Amesbury, Wiltshire, has been sentenced to eight years in prison after being found guilty of raping three girls and sexually assaulting a fourth. The sentencing took place on July 18 at Salisbury Crown Court.
The youth, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, was convicted of raping girls aged 13 and 14, raping and sexually assaulting another 14-year-old, and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old. These offences occurred across four separate incidents from May 2023 to December 2024.
In each case, the perpetrator initially approached the victims via social media, arranging in-person meetings. Disturbingly, in one incident, he intoxicated a victim with vodka before committing the assault.

Following the custodial sentence, the boy will serve time initially in a secure training centre before transferring to a young offender’s institution. Additionally, he faces six years on licence, lifelong registration on the Sex Offenders Register, and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Constable Dan England described the case as highlighting “a troubling issue of toxic sexual behaviours in some young men.” He stressed the need for community-wide education on consent and respect, emphasizing that awareness must begin at home, school, and extend into workplaces.
DC England praised the victims’ “remarkable courage and resilience” for coming forward and said their bravery was instrumental in delivering justice. He called for ongoing community support for survivors of sexual violence and a collective commitment to fostering accountability and respect among young people.
