Toddler Critical After A303 Head-On Collision

An unfortunate head-on collision on the A303 left a one-year-old toddler in critical condition yesterday evening (Friday, March 28). The distressing incident occurred near the Bulford junction, east of Amesbury around 5.30 pm, leading to the closure of the road into Saturday morning.

Wiltshire Police reported that a grey Skoda Karoq merged onto the A303 eastbound at the Amesbury Road junction, colliding with a white Peugeot 208 traveling in the same direction. The impact caused the Peugeot to spin onto the westbound carriageway through the gap in the barriers for the Allington track, resulting in a head-on collision with a silver Volvo V70 traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Peugeot, a woman in her 20s, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The one-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries, while another passenger in the Peugeot, a five-year-old boy, sustained injuries not believed to be life-changing.
