Three Somerset Pubs Shortlisted for National Pub & Bar Awards 2026

Three distinguished pubs from Somerset have earned a spot on the shortlist for the prestigious National Pub & Bar Awards 2026, recognising excellence across the UK hospitality sector.

Marking its 10th anniversary, this annual event celebrates outstanding pubs and bars nationwide. The awards ceremony is set for June 10 in London, where 94 winners will be crowned as the best in their counties.

Out of 252 Highly Commended venues named across the country, three Somerset pubs have been selected for the county title race: The Bower Inn in Bridgwater, an 18th-century converted farmhouse; The Swan Inn in Rowberrow, a Grade II-listed 17th-century establishment near the Mendip Hills; and the recently renovated Manor House Inn.

All three will receive certificates recognising their achievement at the ceremony, where the overall Somerset County winner will be revealed.

The Bower Inn expressed their excitement on Facebook, stating: “We’re incredibly proud to share that The Bower Inn has been shortlisted for Best in County at the National Pub & Bar Awards. This recognition means so much to our team and reflects everything we strive for – being at the heart of our community, serving great food made with care, and offering welcoming, comfortable accommodation for every guest. We look forward to the Grand Final in June and thank our amazing team and loyal supporters for making this possible.”

Similarly, The Swan Inn shared their gratitude: “We are thrilled to be nominated as a County Nominee! This recognition wouldn’t be possible without the support of our wonderful guests, community, and staff. Here’s to many more memorable moments together!”

Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar magazine which hosts the awards, commented: “Following the success of our expanded format in 2025, we are excited to continue celebrating the incredible pubs and bars that form the backbone of this industry. From Easter through to the awards night in early summer, we honour the dedication and excellence of these fantastic venues.”

In addition to county and regional honours, the ceremony will announce the Industry’s Choice Award, determined by a panel of 400 industry judges, as well as consumer-voted accolades for Pub Group of the Year and Bar Group of the Year, alongside the Tyrrells Tyrrellbly Good Taste Award.
