Three men have been sentenced following their involvement in a number of burglaries across Somerset, involving the theft of car keys and other offences.
Dylan Morgan, 23, Thomas Maguire, 19, and George Ruja, 19, appeared at Taunton Crown Court on Friday, 14 August, facing charges related to a series of burglaries carried out in Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-super-Mare and Glastonbury between 16 March and 5 May.
Morgan, who resides in Dickenson Road, Weston-super-Mare, admitted to conspiracy to commit burglary and driving while disqualified. He received a sentence totalling 45 months, of which he will serve 18 months in custody, followed by a period on licence. Additionally, he has been banned from driving for four and a half years.

Maguire, from Bristol Road, Tarnock, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary. He was handed a 30-month sentence, with nine months to be spent in prison and the remainder on licence.
Ruja, from Church Street, Highbridge, pleaded guilty to the same charge and was sentenced to 30 months, with 12 months custodial time and the rest of the term on licence.
Neighbourhood Inspector Charmaine Dyne expressed the police’s commitment to tackling such crimes, stating, “We welcome the result of this investigation and remain dedicated to taking firm action against offenders, while proactively working to identify and disrupt criminal activity in our communities.”
She acknowledged the distress burglary causes to victims, adding, “We understand the profound personal impact that burglary can have. We have offered access to specialist support services to those affected, recognising the distress and sense of insecurity they may feel in their own homes.”
Inspector Dyne also urged local residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly, emphasising that community involvement is crucial to effectively addressing and allocating resources to such issues.
