Two individuals have been arrested following a violent assault at Apex Park, Burnham-on-Sea, earlier today.
At approximately 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, Avon and Somerset Police responded to a call from the ambulance service reporting a person with a severe wrist laceration, possibly resulting in life-changing injuries. Upon arrival at the scene on Marine Drive, officers discovered two additional victims with injuries.
All three individuals were promptly transported to hospital for emergency treatment. Subsequent investigations, including CCTV reviews and preliminary inquiries, led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Becky Wells-Cole addressed the community, saying, “We recognize that this incident may be distressing for local residents. However, we believe this to be an isolated event involving individuals known to each other.”
She added that police presence will be increased around Apex Park, Burnham-on-Sea, and Highbridge as investigations continue. Residents with concerns are encouraged to speak directly with local neighbourhood officers for reassurance.
