In an extraordinary family moment, three cousins were born within the span of a single day at the Royal United Hospitals in Bath last month. Identical twins Frankie and Connie arrived just hours apart from their cousin Maddox, marking an unforgettable coincidence for their family.
Georgie, mother to the twins, expressed her excitement about planning future joint birthday celebrations with her brother Billy and his partner Kiera, Maddox’s parents. “It still feels surreal that we all became parents on the very same day,” she said. “We joked about it happening—and then it actually did!”
The family experienced a deeply emotional day, made even more special by having the newborns so close together. “Seeing the cousins all together and being able to visit each other down the hall on the ward was a moment we’ll never forget,” Georgie shared.

She also praised the hospital staff, saying, “The team at RUH have been fantastic—keeping us calm, reassured, and well-supported throughout our time there. We are so grateful for the exceptional care we received.”
Adding to the rarity of the occasion, baby Maddox was born exactly on his due date, while twins Frankie and Connie arrived a little early. Considering that identical twins occur in only about 1 in 250 births and that only 4–5% of babies are born on their exact due date, the family’s triple birth is a truly remarkable coincidence.
Looking ahead, Georgie is eager to celebrate many joint birthday parties. “We can’t wait for all the celebrations in the years to come!” she said with enthusiasm.
The Royal United Hospitals’ maternity ward, expanded in 2024 and rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission, continues to offer exceptional service. It ranks among the top three percent of maternity services in England, highlighting its commitment to high-quality care.
