Three Cousins Born Just Hours Apart at Somerset Hospital

In an extraordinary family milestone, three cousins were born within hours of each other at the Royal United Hospitals in Bath last month. Identical twins Frankie and Connie arrived alongside their cousin Maddox, sharing the same birthday and hospital ward.

Georgie, mother of the twins, is already excited about the future, especially the prospect of celebrating joint birthday parties with her brother Billy and his partner Kiera, Maddox’s parents. Reflecting on the experience, Georgie said, “It still feels surreal that we all became parents on the very same day. We joked about it happening, and then it actually did!”

The day was deeply emotional for the family, who cherished the rare opportunity to be so close during such a special moment. “Seeing the cousins together and being able to visit each other just down the hall was incredible. The staff at RUH were amazing—calm, reassuring, and supportive throughout,” Georgie added, expressing immense gratitude for the care they received.

Adding to the rarity, Maddox was born exactly on his due date, while Frankie and Connie arrived slightly early. Considering that identical twins occur in just one in 250 births and only 4–5% of babies are born on their exact due date, this triple birthday coincidence is truly exceptional.

Georgie concluded with excitement about the future: “We can’t wait for all the joint birthday parties in the years to come!”

The Royal United Hospital’s maternity ward, expanded earlier this year, earned an “Outstanding” rating from the Care Quality Commission and ranks in the top three percent of maternity services across England, highlighting its exceptional standard of care.
