Dorset Police reported that they received a call at 6:56 pm on Sunday, regarding a man believed to have entered the water from a sailing boat in Arne Bay between 8 pm and 9 pm the previous Friday. The two-day delay in reporting the incident has prompted a thorough inquiry.
“The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances surrounding the man’s disappearance and why it was reported days later,” a police spokesperson said. “His whereabouts remain unknown despite detailed search efforts.”
The arrested men were detained not only to assist with information gathering but also to ensure legal coverage during the ongoing probe. Authorities asked the public to avoid speculation while the investigation continues.
