Over the weekend, more than 100 people gathered for an unlicensed rave on Ministry of Defence (MOD) land in Pear Tree Lane, Great Cheverell, Wiltshire. The event, reported to the police shortly after midnight on November 30, featured a sizable setup including generators, large speakers, and a stage.
Upon arrival, officers found approximately 100 to 150 attendees at the location. Given the event’s location on military property, police coordinated with the military to manage the situation effectively, aiming to minimize disruption to the local community while addressing the unauthorized gathering.
Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offenses, including drug driving. They have since been released on bail pending further investigation.

Superintendent James Brain commented on the incident: “We responded promptly to numerous reports from the public. While we recognize the noise disturbance caused to some residents, we remain committed to taking firm and proportionate action against unlicensed music events across Wiltshire. On this occasion, we seized a significant amount of sound equipment and generators from the site. Our inquiries are ongoing.”
