The Woman in Cabin 10 Filmed Aboard a $150 Million Superyacht in Dorset

The psychological thriller The Woman in Cabin 10 has made a striking entrance on Netflix, featuring Keira Knightley as investigative journalist Lo Blacklock. The film’s intense atmosphere is heightened by its authentic setting aboard a stunning luxury yacht.

Principal filming took place at Portland Port on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, aboard the Savannah—a lavish superyacht valued at approximately $150 million. Built by the renowned Dutch shipyard Feadship, the 273-foot vessel is celebrated for its opulent amenities such as six guest cabins, a private beach club with a swimming pool, and the captivating underwater Neptune lounge.

Director Simon Stone purposely chose a real boat for the shoot to capture the claustrophobic, high-pressure environment integral to the story. “It needed to feel like a pressure cooker that is claustrophobic and suffocating despite the grandeur,” Stone explained. Securing the Savannah was no easy feat: the production team had to work carefully around the yacht’s exclusive design and priceless interiors while accommodating a crew of 60 alongside the yacht’s regular staff.

Despite the challenges, both the film crew and the Savannah’s team navigated tight spaces and delicate conditions with professionalism. “We couldn’t leave dents or scratches, and we had to change shoes between inside and outside to protect the surfaces,” Stone shared. Filming on an actual superyacht brought unique logistical hurdles, but it ultimately lent the film an authentic, immersive atmosphere that studio sets couldn’t replicate.

The Woman in Cabin 10 unfolds on the restless Scandinavian seas, where Lo Blacklock suspects a fellow passenger has been deliberately thrown overboard — but no one else believes her.
