The William Dampier Wetherspoon Pub Reopens After £1.6 Million Revamp

The William Dampier, a beloved Wetherspoon pub in Yeovil, is set to reopen after a three-month closure for extensive refurbishment and expansion. The £1.6 million project includes the addition of a larger beer garden and the creation of 35 new jobs, attracting much excitement in the community.

The investment demonstrates Wetherspoon’s dedication to the pub, its staff, and the local area. Pub manager James Currell expressed his enthusiasm for the reopening, emphasizing the new opportunities created for the local workforce.

Originally established in March 2000, The William Dampier is renowned for its affordable beverages and inviting ambiance. The refurbishment encompasses a full interior makeover, featuring new decor, lighting, furniture, and kitchen facilities.

The grand reopening is scheduled for 8am on Tuesday, April 8, with revised operating hours from midnight on Sunday to Thursday and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, offering food until 11pm.
