Last weekend, Alex Jones took center stage as she officially opened the newly transformed Unity Beach holiday park in Brean, signaling her strong support for the resurgence of British seaside vacations.
“It was a privilege to cut the ribbon for Unity Beach,” Alex shared. “Seeing so many people coming together to celebrate the reinvention of British seaside holidays was truly heartwarming.”
Known widely for her role on The One Show, Alex’s ties to the UK coastline are deeply personal. From childhood holidays to family campervan trips, she embodies a genuine belief in the enduring value of traditional British getaways.

She posed a pressing question: “If we all go abroad for our holidays, what will be left of our coastline? We have some stunning beaches here, and people need to choose UK holidays to help these areas regenerate.”
A £15 Million Transformation
Unity Beach has undergone a remarkable £15 million makeover led by former Butlin’s MD Dermot King and Mark Seaton, ex-MD of Cove UK. Spanning 240 acres, the park now boasts a fresh Pavilion Theatre, a dynamic Sports Café with virtual reality gaming, and the newly opened Wonky Donkey pub.
Families can enjoy live entertainment, upgrade their fun at the renovated Brean Splash Waterpark, and relax in thoughtfully designed spaces that cater to all generations.
Alex particularly praised the Pavilion Theatre, describing it as central to a family holiday experience. “After a day exploring, having a place where everyone can gather, dress up a bit, and enjoy entertainment makes the holiday experience so much more enjoyable for parents and kids alike.”
Creating Memories Across Generations
During her visit, Alex spoke with holiday homeowners who shared their joy and appreciation for the revitalized park. “I’ve never seen such happy faces,” she said. “Families told me how much being holiday homeowners here means to them, with memories spanning generations—even great-grandchildren are part of this tradition.”
Reflecting on her own upbringing, Alex noted the importance of UK holidays in her family life. “My Dad grew up in Llanelli, West Wales, and we still visit there as a family. A simple day on the beach with a couple of sandwiches is hard to beat.”
Promoting the Future of British Holidays
Alex’s involvement was more than nostalgia. She stressed the critical need to invest in British seaside resorts to prevent their decline. “If places continue to be overlooked in favour of cheap overseas deals, our coastal resorts will suffer. Unity Beach proves what can be achieved with fresh investment.”
To those skeptical about UK holidays, she offers a challenge: “Have you really tried a British seaside holiday? Unity Beach, for example, has all the facilities you need, rain or shine. There’s truly no better place for a family getaway.”
A Renewed Appreciation for UK Coastal Holidays
Alex Jones’ endorsement of Unity Beach goes beyond opening a resort—it’s a passionate call to reconnect with Britain’s rich seaside heritage. “As a Mum, it’s important for me to show my children that great holidays don’t require flying off abroad. While I enjoy travelling to France or Spain, what we have on our doorstep is just as special and deserves our attention.”
