The Gingerbread Man Comes to Life at Witchampton First School

Young bakers at Witchampton First School have taken a creative approach to learning by turning a traditional fairy tale into a lively baking activity.

As part of the Once Upon a Time learning theme at Witchampton First School, reception pupils from the Hedgehogs Class embarked on an exciting journey to bring The Gingerbread Man story to life. After a visit to the village’s community shop to gather ingredients, the children rolled up their sleeves and got to work on creating their very own gingerbread men.

The hands-on activity not only sparked the children’s creativity but also integrated practical life skills into their learning experience. It also provided an opportunity for the students to engage with their local community and learn about the importance of shopping and interacting with local businesses.

The integration of storytelling, baking, and community engagement has left a lasting impression on the young learners, who are already looking forward to their next adventure.
