Boreham Wood ended their four-match losing streak in the National League with a dramatic 3-2 victory over ten-man Yeovil Town, thanks to Aaron Henry’s stoppage-time winner. The home side looked set to settle for a draw after Henry’s spectacular 25-yard free-kick in the final minutes flew into the top corner, breaking Yeovil’s resistance.
Yeovil struck first through Jake Wannell, but Zak Brunt quickly equalised for Boreham Wood just after the half-hour mark. Brunt then doubled his tally shortly after the break to put the hosts ahead 2-1. Despite going down to ten men following Kyle Ferguson’s second yellow card, Yeovil appeared to salvage a point when substitute James Daly scored a long-range effort in the 71st minute.
However, Boreham Wood’s persistence paid off as Aaron Henry’s stunning late free-kick secured the win, lifting the home team to fourth place in the league while Yeovil remain in 16th.
