Dorset Council has announced a temporary closure of Park Grove in Stalbridge to carry out essential carriageway maintenance and resurfacing. This closure is scheduled to take place from 18 September 2026 until 21 September 2026, operating only when relevant signage is displayed.
The section affected stretches approximately 540 metres between Grove Lane and Barrow Hill, covering areas near the postcodes DT10 2RA and DT9 4RZ. During the period, a clearway and suspension of parking will be enforced along the work zone to ensure safety for both workers and highway users.
Advance warning signs will be installed two weeks prior to the work starting to inform residents and motorists about the exact timings. While the main closure applies to Park Grove, diversion routes will be locally signed for Holway and Hermitage Road. Drivers travelling along Park Grove are advised to follow on-site traffic management instructions and any local signs.

Vehicles found parked in contravention of the suspension or waiting within the closure zone may be removed to maintain safety and traffic flow. Residents, school attendees, business operators, or others who believe they may be affected by the restrictions are encouraged to contact Dorset Highways on 01305 228100 to discuss access arrangements during the works.
The temporary closure and associated measures are necessary to create secure working conditions during the carriageway resurfacing, reducing risks to both workers and road users. Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and adhere to all signage and diversion instructions while the works are in progress.
