Teenager Sentenced to Seven Years for Violent Sexual Assault in Somerset Hotel

Aydin Kolliari, an 18-year-old from Southampton, has been sentenced to seven years in prison following a violent attack on a woman at a hotel near Somerset. The conviction came after a trial where Kolliari was found guilty of multiple offences including two counts of rape, five charges of assault by beating, two counts of intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.

The incident occurred around 10:30 AM on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Hunters Moon Lodge in Middlemarsh. Police responded promptly to reports of a disturbance from hotel occupants. Upon arrival, officers found the victim in distress and arrested Kolliari at the scene.

The victim recounted the harrowing attack, stating that Kolliari struck her face with her own phone, kicked her, and strangled her before committing rape. Following police support, the victim disclosed additional details of the physical and sexual assaults, which were instrumental in securing the conviction.
