Teenager Charged with Murder After Fatal Stabbing in Chippenham

A 15-year-old boy has been formally charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old in Chippenham. The victim, Shayne Hambakachere, a student at Hardenhuish School, was found seriously injured on London Road shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, and later died from his injuries.

The suspect, described as a white British teenager, was initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. Wiltshire Police later re-arrested him on suspicion of murder, and he was charged with this offence on February 3. The teenager remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before Swindon Magistrates Court on February 4.

Wiltshire Police extended their condolences to Shayne’s family and friends during this difficult time and thanked the Chippenham community for their support. Authorities continue to investigate the case and are appealing for information from the public.
