A 19-year-old moped rider, Oakley Coffey-Noon from Burnham-on-Sea, has been charged with several offences after a collision with police on the A38 at Dunball, near Bridgwater, on Boxing Day. The incident occurred just before 4:30 pm when Coffey-Noon failed to stop for a police officer.
The charges against Coffey-Noon include taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop for the police, driving without a valid licence, driving without insurance, and possession of a class B drug.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that Coffey-Noon has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Taunton Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 23.
