A 17-year-old motorcyclist from north Dorset tragically lost his life after being struck by a lorry on a roundabout in Poole, according to Dorset Police. The fatal collision occurred on Friday afternoon, November 28, at approximately 5pm on the Holes Bay North Roundabout, where the A350 meets the A3059 at the Upton Bypass.
Emergency services responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, the young rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was unharmed. Police have notified the victim’s family and the Dorset coroner will be opening an inquest into the incident.
In their ongoing investigation, authorities have identified four vehicles believed to have been near the collision. Police are urgently appealing for the drivers of these vehicles to come forward to assist with their inquiries. The vehicles include a black BMW 1 Series, a white Vauxhall Astra, a black Suzuki Swift, and a white Ford Transit Van—all traveling westbound on the Upton Bypass at the time.

Sergeant David Cotterill of the Roads Police team emphasized the importance of eyewitness accounts: “We believe these drivers may have witnessed the collision, and their information could be crucial. We also encourage anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash to get in touch.”
